Features available with update options

On the Update options screen, you can enable or disable some new features.
This section describes the features for which you can change the enable/disable setting as of the April 2026 update.

Features selectable under "Disable New Features"

Ability to ask AI to review app settings (Available in Kintone AI)

The AI App Settings Review feature is now offered with Kintone AI Lab.
This feature allows you to have your app settings reviewed by AI based on guidelines set by Kintone administrators.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the May 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Ability to use AI Search (Available in Kintone AI)

This feature lets you use AI Search on kintone.com. For details on the AI Search, refer to the following page:

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the August 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

New "Import from File" Screen

With the new Import from file screen, you can select either Only add new records or Update and add records as methods for importing data to an app. This lets you clearly specify whether you want to modify existing data or add new data.
In addition, improvements have been made to the screen layout and design, making it easier to configure the settings for importing files.

Front-end infrastructure revamp for the "Imported files" screen

The front-end framework of the Imported files screen has been updated. The design has also been partially changed to improve the visibility of the import progress and import results.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the May 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Display number of users with access on "App management" screen

In Apps on the App management screen, the Regular users with access and Guest users with access columns have been added, allowing you to check the number of regular and guest users who can access each app. This feature is only available to Kintone users & system administrators.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the August 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Display number of set API tokens and webhooks on "App management" screen

In Apps on the App management screen, the API tokens and Webhooks columns have been added, allowing you to check the number of API tokens and Webhooks configured in each app.

Enhanced JavaScript API support (December 2025–February 2026 versions)

JavaScript APIs in Kintone have been enhanced.

Ability to use partial match search for records in "Lookup" fields

You can now perform more flexible searches when filtering records in a Lookup field. For example, you can filter records containing "kintone" by entering a single character like "k" or a partial string such as "kin".

Usage dashboard (Only available for the Wide and Standard license plans)

Import numeric values with thousand separators in CSV files

You can now import CSV files containing numeric values with thousand separators.

Ability to exclude keywords in search

When searching all of kintone or within an app, you can now exclude search results containing a specific keyword. To exclude a keyword, enter a hyphen followed by the keyword you want to exclude, such as "-keyword".

Ability to view the change history of app settings

You can now view the change history for app settings on the App settings screen. This history shows when the settings were changed, by whom, and a summary of the changes.

Increase the number of viewable entries in "App settings history" to 1,000

You can now view up to 1,000 records in the change history of app settings. Previously, only up to 50 records were available.

Export record comments

You can now export app record comments to a CSV file.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the August 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Ability to use "App", "Space", "Assigned to me", and "Notifications" widgets on additional portals

You can now place "App", "Space", "Assigned to me", and "Notifications" widgets on additional portals.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the August 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Notes to consider before disabling this feature

If you update an additional portal while this feature is disabled, any "App", "Space", "Assigned to me", or "Notifications" widgets on that portal will be deleted.
Deleted widgets cannot be restored even if you enable this feature again. If they are deleted, you will need to place them on the portal again.

For portals that were not updated while the feature was disabled, the widgets will be restored and reappear on the portals once the feature is enabled again.

Ability for Kintone administrators to prohibit granting the "Manage app" permission to the "Everyone" group

Kintone administrators can now prohibit granting the "Manage app" permission to the Everyone group.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the August 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Assigned to me widget for the mobile app (Android)

You can now place the "Assigned to me" widget on the Android home screen in the Kintone mobile app.

Display number of "Apps referencing this app" on "App management" screen

In Apps on the App management screen, the Apps referencing this app column has been added, allowing you to check the number of apps that reference this app through the Lookup or Related records fields.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under Disable New Features will disable it. This feature can be disabled until the August 2026 update is released. From that time onward, this feature will always be enabled.

Capture and adjust documents when attaching files on the mobile app (Android)

On the Android version of the Kintone mobile app, you can now capture and adjust documents when attaching files.

Image editing when attaching files on the mobile app (iOS)

On the iOS version of the Kintone mobile app, you can now edit photos, including rotating, cropping, and adjusting brightness and contrast, when attaching files. This applies to both photos captured on the spot and those selected from your photo library.

Features selectable under Disable New Features (Features available only in Current Channel) are displayed only when Current Channel is selected in the Select Update Channel section.
Note that the features you can enable or disable may change at any time. For the latest information on which features can be enabled or disabled, please check the Update options screen.

As of the release date of the April 2026 update, there are no new features or enhancements that can be previewed.

System Monitoring

This feature adds the System monitoring section to the Kintone administration screen.
On the  System monitoring screen, you can check the status of search indexing jobs.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under New Features Under Consideration will enable it.

Improved Kintone Administration Design ("Header Color" Screen Design and Layout Change)

This feature updates the UI and layout design of the Kintone administration screen.
Selecting the checkbox for this feature under  New Features Under Consideration will enable it.
This feature is only applied to the Header color screen. There are plans to apply it to additional screens in future updates.

Front-end update for the header and global navigation bar in the mobile-optimized view

The front-end infrastructure for the header, global navigation menu, and "Notifications" in the mobile-optimized view has been updated. Additionally, the layout and some UI components have been changed.

Selecting the checkbox for this feature under New Features Under Consideration will enable it.

New notifications screen

The front-end infrastructure of the Notifications screen has been updated. This update also includes a redesigned interface and new features.

Ability to find apps with AI (Available in Kintone AI)

This feature, which lets you use AI to search for apps, is now offered in Kintone AI Lab.

When you click Kintone AI at the top of Kintone and select AI App Finder , the AI App Finder screen will open.

When you enter a word or phrase and click Search apps, the AI will start searching your apps. The AI will also offer search suggestions based on what you've entered.

Front-end updates to "Create from Excel" app creation screens and changed import error handling

This feature revamps the front-end framework of the screens that appear after clicking Create from Excel in Kintone marketplace, with changes to the layout and screen configuration.

Also, with this update, if any errors occur during file import, only the rows with errors will be skipped, and the import will continue. This way of handling errors is the same as when you are importing record data from a file into an app and have selected Continue importing (Only rows with errors will be skipped) on the Import from file screen.

Front-end update for the "Portal" screen (desktop and mobile views)

The front-end framework of the "Portal" screen for both desktop and mobile views has been updated. The layout and some UI components have also been changed.

Notes to consider before enabling this feature

  • When you enable this feature, keep the following in mind if you disable it later.
    Any changes made to the portal while the feature is disabled will overwrite the settings from when the feature was enabled. This means that if you enable the feature again, the portal will reflect those changes. Since you cannot restore the old settings, you will need to change the portal settings again.
    If you do not change any settings while the feature is disabled, the settings from when the feature was enabled will be applied when you enable it again.
  • Even if the "Front-end update for the header and global navigation bar in the mobile-optimized view" feature in "New features under consideration" is not enabled, the header and global navigation bar of the "Portal" screen in the mobile view will be displayed with the new design when you enable this feature.

API Lab

API Lab lets you try out APIs that are currently in development.
These APIs may be discontinued mid-development or changed dramatically. For this reason, we recommend using them only for testing purposes, and not with your actual environment.

This allows you to use a REST API for creating a space without specifying a space template.

This allows you to use a REST API for getting or updating the Categories settings of an app.
